Missing VESA FrameBuffer option in menuconfig

Hello, I'm trying to use the vesafb driver in the linux voyage kernel compilation but it's missing in the menuconfig. I've added manually the option in the .config but it is still missing in the menuconfig when I load the modified .config. I can see the driver source (vesafb.c) in /drivers/video/ but I don't know how to manage to turn on the vesa fb option. The kernel version is 2.6.23. I'm using a SIS 5500 SoC built in an embedded board. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I can answer myself... This option only appears when "Support for frame buffer devices is marked as kernel include not as module.
