Metacity Down

Around last week, it seems metacity, along with compiz was broken or something, after doing an upgrade. I do have an nVidia card, so alot of things was messed up. I normally just wait awhile to let debian sort things out. Now after upgrading and removing compiz and getting metacity installed and working again, I didn't have a top panel. When I add one, the regular stuff is missing like the Main Menu(foot), Systems and Places icons. Also the audio speaker and whatever else was included by default.

Is there a way to get it back to the default setup? I can add some things but its not like it was before.

Thnx.

Try the following...

dpkg-reconfigure menu
dpkg-reconfigure menu-xdg
update-menus

menu-xdg must be installed for the Debian menu to be present, I would think it's already installed on your system.
