Mercury messenger and flash support

I'm using Mercury messenget which works fine. In the global settings I have to specify the external programs (like Send mail: /usr/bin/thunderbird %1)
I have flash installed but don't know what program to select to play flash in. The label is open.flash but I've tried and nothing seems to work (to play winks and other quite useless stuff but I'd just wont to see it work)
I've got flashplugin-nonfree installed but I guess this can only play flash in Firefox and not as a external player. Any clues on what to install?

Regards
