Lightbulb mem usage in Sarge/Debian

G'day
I've managed to install and run a very stable and smooth Debian/Sarge... even nvidia driver was installed and running (I think!). However, few rough edges I couldn't find much info on:

1- I'v got a P2-350/324mb sdram/MX400 64mb VideoCard. I've put two 512mb swaps on my two hdd's. But it seems like, the more the system stays on, more ram's taken out. It usually starts out with 109mb when I turn the system on and after a day of fairly good use, it reaches up to 290mb then the hdd swapping starts. This is even after I close most of my apps. The responsiveness of the system also suffers from this. Is there a particular reason for that? and what is the remedy for it...

2- The nvidia driver was installed and seems to be working but is there a way I can find out or test that my nvidia driver is installed? How can I get info on the version number of my nvidia driver?

cheers

Sounds like you have a memory leak somewhere. Use "top" to find out which process it is.

This used to happen with Netscape....it was most unpleasant.

Run "glxinfo" from the command line for this info.
