maximize a window

What do i need to add to the command to make a program to open maximize So i dont have to click on the maximize button to resize the window

Some apps can take standard X arguments, like -geometry, so have a look at 'man X'.

I have Alt-F12 bound to maximise in Fluxbox for that sort of thing though...
