make-kpkg and distcc

Hi, I recently got a hold of 9 SGI Indy R4400 and R5000 machines, and am creating a small, network booting cluster to mess around with. One idea I had in mind was being able to ship out a debian kernel from my Sparc Station 20 across the network for cross compiling on the cluster using distcc. However, I have yet to figure out how to sucessfully get make-kpkg and distcc to cooperate with each other.

has anyone tried something like this before, or is this even possible?

Although i really dont know anything about distcc i did find an intersting article on distcc and make-kpkg

heres the reference

Quote:
You can do both the kernel_image and modules_image commands all in one go (modules_image, builds the .deb packages for modules such as nvidia-kernel-source, pcmcia etc. Instrucions on how to actually complete these module installs can be found in other howto documents here). Simply issue a command like the following:

make-kpkg --initrd --revision=2:anubis.1.0 kernel_image modules_image
and heres the info on distcc

Using distcc with debian

hope that helps. I have not tried any of it yet but once i get a little more comfortable i will

EDIT: oops i guess i should have read the WHOLE post before posting sorry this most likely has absolutely no relevence to you situation
