Madwifi won't boot up as Access Point

Hi! I'm running Debian Etch on a Pentium4. I've run aptitude to install madwifi-source, module-assistant, wireless-tools and all the stuff necessary in order to get my smc working.
BUT... I don't find the right config to reboot and keep it working. It works in all modes, but i can't get it booting up as an access point.

Things that works:
Code:
wlanconfig ath0 destroy
wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap
ifup ath0
iwconfig ath0 essid FUNCIONA rate auto
iwconfig ath0 txpower=16
iwconfig ath0 channel=9
My /etc/network/interfaces looks as:
Code:
auto ath0
iface ath0 inet static
pre-up wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap
post-down wlanconfig ath0 destroy
wireless-mode master
wireless-channel 9
wireless-essid FUNCIONA
address 192.168.1.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.1.0
When I reboot:
Code:
wifi0: unknown hardware address type 801
eth0: link up, ...
wifi0: unknown hardware address type 801
...
wlanconfig: ioctl: Input/output error
Failed to bring up ath0.
done.
It's a bit strange that if I login and run
Code:
/etc/init.d/networking restart
then iwconfig shows than ath0 is managed and
Code:
wlanconfig ath0 destroy
wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap
turns wifi on (IP was ok) :S

I think is not problem of madwifi, it's I can't get debian to automats the task of bringing up my access point.

Thanks in advance! Sorry for my english!
