DeadPenguin Member Registered: Nov 2004 Location: Delaware Distribution: Slackware Posts: 351 Rep:	Looking for a crash log file I just installed Debian Etch via netinstall. Everything looked great. Now it crashes to a black screen. I can't get the desktop back. I physically have to hit the power button. Where can I find the log file that lets me know whats happening? Thanks. Regards, Blair

Dutch Master Senior Member Registered: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,686 Rep:	Try the /var/log directory. Read the dmesg and xorg..log files ( is a number, usually 0)
