login problems
 

So I have kanotix linux which is a debian-sid distro..And a few weeks ago after a kpackage update my login's got missed up..It won't let me login as user until i've loged in as root than log out from root than i can finnally log into my user account..It's really annoying and I was wondering if anyones had this problem and how to fix it.

Try as root :

passwd -u <the basic user's login>

(I'm not sure; that's just a suggestion that may not help at all).

No that didn't help...I noticed on my splash screen is that it gets to italizing peripherals than after a few seconds of flashing it goes back to the login screen...And won't let me sing in unless I go into the root side first..I'm not sure if A permission got changed on one of my peripherals or if it's the one new peripheral which is a touch pad though i don't have a touch pad installed on my comp..I'm just not sure if this problem started before or after the think pad option was added...Do you know how to check user permissions on all the peripherals?...That might solve my problem hopefully..
