Locales errors

I'm having problems with Debian testing and locales. THings were working fine on a new install. Then I try to install a package and I start getting errors:

Perl: warning: setting locale failed
perl: warning: please check that your locale settings:

This has happened twice now, two different installs. and with this error, I can't install anything new.

Any ideas?

Just in case you don't haven't, which i doubt:

#apt-get install locales

#dpkg-reconfigure locales

choose all the instances of:

en_US

select them with the space bar <Enter>
on the next screen choose for your environment:

en_US
or any other you want, some people like the

en_US.ISO-8859-15

because they can read german and french vowels.

Doing the dpkg-reconfigure on locales worked. I also selected more locales of the en-us variety. Thanks for the help!
