Howdy folks.. decided to give 2.6 a go and installed the debian kernel on my laptop. I've got a Linksys WPC11 wireless NIC and had with working with 2.4.21. I just used the linux-wlan-ng package that's in unstable and appropraite debian kernel and then used the prism2 module (I believe, not at the laptop right now). I'm pretty sure it won't work right now because I dont' have a linux-wlan-ng package for 2.6 kernels.

Has anyone gotten this card working on Debian with a 2.6 kernel? I'm guessing I might have to compile the drivers myself but would like to avoid that

At worst I'd just continue using 2.4.21 and wait until 2.6 versions of wlan packages are in unstable. Call me lazy

More than a month - wow! If you still have the question, here you go: First, I'd advise just custom compiling a kernel yourself once - then you have all the config that you want, and you can just recompile with the same settings for any later kernels. Second, make sure that the 2.6 kernel image doesn't include support for the prism2 chipsets - that's a pretty common wireless chipset.
