lilo long delay???

hello

Recently I transfered everything to a new harddrive and made it bootable. after fidling with lilo.conf now there is a long delay (about 20 sec) between lilo starting and linux booting. ive turned prompt off and delay = 2. but its still slow.
anyone got any ideas one what i might have done, or what i can do to fix it.
