lilo.conf : graphical boot problem
Pure frill, but here goes:
I decided that I'd like to have a graphical (rather than menu-driven) boot for lilo.
# Installs the specified file as the new boot sector
# You have the choice between: bmp, compat, menu and text
# Look in /boot/ and in lilo.conf(5) manpage for details
#
install=/boot/boot-menu.b
I changed it to
install=/boot/boot-bmp.b
went to run lilo to reload it, and got:
penance:/home/modify# lilo
Added Linux *
Fatal: Bitmap table has space for only 0 images
is this a result of running testing/unstable? (mostly unstable, but upgraded xf86 to testing), and hence it can't find the bmp file to use (it has woody, sid, and sarge symlinks).
Thanks for any help.

See the sample from /usr/share/doc/lilo/examples. Efectively you need lines:
Code:
bitmap=/usr/share/lilo/contrib/sid.bmp
bmp-colors=1,,0,2,,0
bmp-table=120p,173p,1,15,17
bmp-timer=254p,432p,1,0,0
install=/boot/boot-bmp.b
To your lilo.conf to have a startup image. The last line you allready have.
