libranet 2.7 upgrade to debian

i am downloading libranet 2.7 (the stripped down classic version), but it doesn't come with everything i want. that is OK with me because i want to upgrade it to debian sarge the moment i have it installed. i am just using it for the installer. the questions are:

1) what lines do i add to my sources.list to get this accomplished?

2) what commands do i use? i think it is apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, apt-get dist-upgrade...

3) also, will this work? i know that a knoppix hd install leaves a slightly altered footprint, making compiling the kernel, etc difficult.

i used libranet 2.7, and then bought 2.81. libranet 2.7 is minus quite a bit of software compared to 2.81, one of the first things i noticed. during the install, you have the choice to load lots more software with 2.81, nicer looking desktop and fonts too.
