LDAP and Kerberos
I am looking for suggestions for good LDAP and kerberos packages for Debian.
I would appreciate any suggestions. |
montoring has nothing whatsoever to do with ldap / kerberos. You need to work out what atomic pieces of config are relevant here. What do you actually want to achieve? You can't make a "domain" (as I imagine you perceive it) with just ldap and krb5. I would recommend NOT makign a domain though, try just using LDAP and nothing else for centralized user information and authentication.

I mis-spoke.. Let me be a little more detailed. I want to be able to locate individuals, and other resources such as files and devices in my network. Which is LDAP.
I want kerberos for authentication. I didn't mean to imply that I meant to accomplish every single goal I have with these two things. To clarify my intentions.. I don't want to make this thread some long discussion over what each piece of something does. I simply want a few suggestions for LDAP and kerberos type packages for Debian. I am running Debian 6.05 right now. |
well again, I'd say you should avoid krb5, and just use LDAP, it will do both in a much simpler and clearer way. Openldap packages are available in the standard respositories.

Thank you.
