Question Kwickdisk dosent show all partitions ?


using bonazi linux (Debian based) mounted on HD. System is dual booted with window Me
I would like to know how to get my windows partition hda1 and second hd =hdb1 showing in kwickdisk so I can mount them and get to my music & stuff , the only mount point showing in kwickdisk is linux hdb6, cd's & floppy the mnt folder under / file system doesn't show any thing in it, any ideas on that.
any help appreciated. Thanks efi360

They will not show up in kwikdisk unless they are in the /etc/fstab file.

Thank fo the reply aaa, How would i go about to list other partitions in there

here is what is in /etc/fstab

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
/dev/hda6 / ext3 errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/fd0 /floppy auto user,noauto 0 0
/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0

Assuming you want to use the two FAT32 Windows partitions hda1 and hdb1 (use 'fdisk -l' to get the partition names):
First run:
mkdir /mnt/win_c
mkdir /mnt/win_d
Then add to fstab:

/dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c vfat umask=0,defaults 0 0
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/win_d vfat umask=0,defaults 0 0

The 'umask=0' sets the permissions to 'rwxrwxrwx'.

Sorry aaa but i am a bit of a newb do i type this in at root console after su then password ?

mkdir /mnt/win_c
mkdir /mnt/win_d

and can I just copy and past this in fstab file ?

/dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c vfat umask=0,defaults 0 0
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/win_d vfat umask=0,defaults 0 0

I never got a last response but I went for it any way .
Typed it in a root console then copyed and pasted to fstab and urika it worked
can now mount other partitions in kwickdisk
