kooka scanner dialog doesn't show w/fix

this isn't a question its a answer i had installed etch and every time i tried to launch kooka it would let me choose my scanner ( lide30 ) the dialog wouldn't show even from the setting menu but i could scan with scanimage after lots of yelling at the computer(and a reinstall) i figured out that my user wasn't part of the scanner group so all i did was 'adduser user scanner' and restarted and everything worked fine

again this is not a question i just put it here in case someone else has the same problem

@debian:~$ scanimage -L
device `plustek:libusb:001:004' is a Canon N1240U/LiDE30 USB flatbed scanner
