Kolab - openpkg - debian
Hi,
I like to install Kalop on a Debian system. There is no apt for kalop the only way to get it is with openpkg I never used openpkg until now, but I have installed a bare bone Debian on my test box and installed openpkg. Here are my questions. Should I use apt-get to install apache2, php4, mySQL, bind9 etc and then only get Kalop from openPKG OR should I install everything with openPKG? I have installed openssl and bind9 with openPKG but can't figure out how to get it to work. There is a whole new structure with etc, var, usr... folders in the openPKG folder - how do I get the system to recognize those configs and see the new software? Also bind9 needed ssl but that was already installed via apt-get how do you solve the dependency problem? Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? Thanks for your input and help |
Little update / I am learning!
I found out how to start the packages which are installed via openpkg Here it goes: /openpkg/etc/rc foo start as in /openpkg/etc/rc bind start so this works still there is the question about dependencies! and witch when to use apt-get vs openpkg |
