kgraphspace and qt error

a url with redhat that wasnt answered, not successful has same problem============>
http://linuxquestions.org/questions/...ht=kgraphspace

ok, heres problem...trying to install kgraphspace, but i get error...
upon ./configure i get =========>
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0.2) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!

i have libqt3-dev and libqt3-headers installed

had a similar problem with knoppix at one time with nvidia drivers...used the command [export CC=/usr/bin/gcc-2.95] in what I would expect to be some kind of local variable assignment to let BASH and whatever's in it that (c-compiler) gcc-2.95 can be found in /usr/bin/gcc-2.95

will i have to do something similar for debian and kgraphspace to let it know that it is there?
SID, 2.6.5, Inspiron 8200 w/M50 A15

please help, for i gotta see what's goin on with disk usage without resorting to kdirstat which is a bit much and not more intuitive than a simple pie chart.

By the way will someone point me in an EXCELLENT direction for source compilation in debian...the stuff listed in the READMEs hasnt worked for me

been pretty limited to apt-get and alien

Please help, ill keep looking

Thanx

moderator, may i get this moved to the software side as this may be a general question that someone might easily answer. I think it lies somewhere in letting the configurator know where the Qt installation is. Please answer, someone or move me, moderator to a more appropriate forum.

thanx always, newbie...

hehehe
