Keyboard settings when using console

Hi you guys"!

I can't help but feel the need in asking another silly question:

I recently install Sarge 3.1 on my box, however I got a bit mixed up with the language and keyboard input setting when installing it.

I managed to alter the settings to the right language and keyboard settings under the X-Window but when I am using the console ( tty1 [ Ctrl+Alt+F1 - for instance] ) the keyboard does not type in the keys I want to.

How can I get it sorted?

Thanks a lot"!

Thanks you guys,....I shall give that a try.

now moving on to more serious things........recently I have installed Sarge on my box; now what I want to do ( and I am sure that most of you wanna do it to ) is to compile and upgrade the kernel.

The thing is I get all sorts of modules issues ( it may be that I uncheck/remove ) some modules to be loaded with the kernel and when it compiles, it searches for its dependencies and cannot find them.

Is there a good guide in compiling the 2.6.1x kernel on the net?

thanks again"!

Check loaded modules on your pre-installed kernel with lsmod. Check hardware with lspci.
