keyboard layout is wrong

hi
I am having trouble with my dell system. its running under debian testing. I recently apt-get dist-upgraded my system and since reboot the keyboard layout is wrong. I have a swiss keyboard "de-ch" but it's set to a standard us qwerty keyboard. in my XFree86-Config-4 it's set to "de-ch", but still when in gnome or even in one of the six consoles it's wrong.

any idea?

thx alot

What did you dist-upgrade from? Will your system now not be running xorg and so be looking for xorg.conf under /etc/X11 instead of XF86-Config-4?

For console try: dpkg-reconfigure console-data
or: dpkg-reconfigure console-common

perfect.

I also found my error in the XF86Config-4 file. was using a wrong name for the keyboard layout. strange though it changed during apt-get.

thx alot

You might want to submit a bug report about that, since it's not mentioned in the changelog.
