newbie to linux here, and im sure that starting with kali is probably not going to be viewed as the wisest decision.
...i dunno i am a noob.
Welcome to GNU/Linux! You are correct, starting with Kali is not going to be viewed as either wise, nor entirely innocent.
What is your real objective in starting with professional penetration tools?

Yes, several times. Did you read the Kali page linked by Emerson above? As a newbie you should at least read the following few sentences, and take them to heart.

...Kali is a Linux distribution specifically geared towards professional penetration testers and security specialists, and given its unique nature, it is NOT a recommended distribution if you’re unfamiliar with Linux or are looking for a general-purpose Linux desktop distribution for development, web design, gaming, etc.
Even for experienced Linux users, Kali can pose some challenges.

If you just want sound, then you should use another GNU/Linux distro more suited to your uses. If you want hard core sound, try LFS as mentioned by jamison20000e.
On the other hand, if you really want hard core penetration tools, as seems to be the case, you should start with a more general GNU/Linux distribution until you learn your way around without doing harm to others, or to yourself!
If members here seem reluctant to hold your hand while you learn to drive in a Ferrari, it is largely to reduce our own participation in the inevitable wild goose chase that would follow. Many of us spend our work days cleaning up the considerable mess created by those who do.
So consider the advice which you have already received and acknowledged, and forget about Kali for the time being - learn to keep it between the stripes first using a more general distro, or LFS for the truly hard core.

thank you for your pre-judgemental attitude.
your advice has been taken into consideration.
can you help me fix the sound card?
i think this thread may help except i dont know where to put the code.
As the distribution developers, one would likely expect us to recommend that everyone use Kali Linux but the fact of the matter is, that Kali is a Linux distribution specifically geared towards professional penetration testing and security auditing.
So, to me, "professional penetration testing" seems not to be equated in any way with "newbie". I would really recommend you look for a distribution that is more mainline so you could learn Linux first. The point folks were trying to make earlier is that many of the tools in Kali could be installed on other distributions like Slackware etc.

No.
You seem intent on ignoring the useful advice offered, so you are more or less on your own with that.
I am not pre-judging anything.
1. You say you are a newbie (repeatedly).
2. Kali itself says specifically that it is not for newbies, a fact that you acknowledge.
3. You want sound, Kali is not a multi-media distribution.
4. You want to run before you walk, a conclusion fully supported by this thread.

Sorry, can't help you with that approach.
so pretty much i have to see things your way or you wont help?
your useful advice is less than useful,
i fixed it on the the previous distro without help, i will fix it on this one as well.
do you ever help anybody or are you always so full of your self?

Being able to swim doesn't mean jump in the deep end of a pool if the sign says, "Warning new electric eel, wolverine, pitbull and shark hybrid tank" or opening the valve by the other sign saying, "Release to the wild;" assuming RTFM?!

Reason: added wolverine, pitbull
