Kernel Panic - Init Not Found!!
Hey guys,
I've installed SuSe and now I'm migrating to Debian.. I'm getting this error: Kernel Panic - init not found. Try passing in init= in the kernel prompt I get this error when I hit enter after installing it.. Above it it also tells me of some cms error.. Please guys - Guide me through this, this is my first venture into linux and I can't beleive I'm already having problems - but i'll try to keep an open mind -The Pentium Guy |
Are you doing a clean install of Debian, i.e., wiping out / (you could keep /home)? The Debian installation should install the initrd for you, unless you are compiling the kernel yourself - then you have to specify that you want to have an initrd.
