I would like to thank you for your patience and let you know Ive tested the solution above and it is working. While it isn't what I (thought) I wanted, it is in fact a better solution. Thanks for pointing it out.

I am aware that I could have come off a little hot headed, I didn't mean to. Apologies if I did.

That's the normal way of doing things!!!.....Each partition is mounted to /, and the files are found in /boot. (there are multiple /boot directories---one in each partition.)

One partition for each distro, + 1 swap shared by all.

EDIT: this was not in response to the previous post, but rather the one before (ie #15) sorry for any confusion.
