kernel 2.6.25 + LVM

Hello,

Some days ago, I installed debian with my root partition on a LV.

For the first time I compiled kernel 2.6.25 the Debian way.
And I am having an issue i cannot solve on my own.
After rebooting it says: waiting for root. And I just don't know why.

I made the kernel like this:

make menuconfig
make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image

and installed it like this:
dpkg --install ../kernel-image-2.6.25_Custom.000_i386.deb

I also made sure not to forgett device-mapper.
Obviously there is something wrong or missing. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

Fabian
