Kernel 2.6.15 on Debian Sarge (3.1)

I installed the kernel from backports earlier and booted into it. When i got in, i got this error message:

ALERT! /dev/hda1 does not exist. Dropping to shell!

/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

Tell me, the hda1 disk is where your linux system is installed right?

When you install a linux-image or kernel-image, the grub is modify to add the new kernel initrd, but, the others kernels installed remain, so, if you try to enter for other kernel (let's say 2.6.8) you see the same error?

Bye

install package yaird and then do the following:

rm /boot/initrd.img-2.6.15-1-686(you should give yours here)

yaird -v-o /boot/initrd.img-2.6.15-1-686 2.6-15-1-686

then boot with your new kernel

replace -1-686 with yours
