KDM help

Three questions,

1.How do I set it so KDM does not boot on startup so I can login through bash?

2.KDM is not letting me type in my user password, I type in my user name, then I click in the password box and I got to type nad nothing happens. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

3. Is there a lighter WM than blackbox? it waht I'm using now and it seems to be kind of slow. I'm running KDE on top of it, but on boot it takes a couple of seconds to get to KDM, even windows is shorter than that!

1. Install rcconf (or sysvconfig) and use it to disable kdm. Then reboot.
2. KDE probably has some Kontrolcenter or something like that where you can tweak kdm settings. I don't use KDE so cannot be more specific.
3. Blackbox is as fast as WMs come. Try running blackbox without running KDE on top of it.

Yes, kcontrol. Start kcontrol, go to System Administration and Login Manager.
