Anybody know how to get KDETV on Debian. I don't mind compiling from source, but I'd prefer to have a Debian package even if I do so. How do I quickly produce a package after compiling from source?
Is there any tool for Debian that does this?
I don't want to manually build a .deb file. I'd prefer an automated tool if possible, since this is the only time I'm going to use it.
For some reason I don't get sound even with the snd_bt87x module loaded. In Gentoo, it works fine and even alsaconf detects the sound driver for the TV tuner, but in Debian and Slackware even with the snd_bt87x module loaded, sound doesn't work with the TV card.

I might not have read the whole post (heh), but I might help with the problem. What parameters did you send to the module? For instance, my tv card uses btxxx module, but without WRONG (don't ask) parameters it did not work, hell it doesn't work well now either, sound is always on, but that's thanks to the decent no name manufacturer. Again, I don't know it there are parameters to be sent to the snd module, but I'm mentioning it anyways. http://www.bttv-gallery.de/
