KDE 3.2 KPrinter Problem "File Format is not directly supported"

Hi,
What is it possible to do for the following printing problem on Debian Testing running KDE3.2.

The system is running CUPS which is configured properly (test page print ok). Under KDE the printer was added and some text jobs can be sent to printer in KWord and it prints ok.

But when printing from other tool like Konqueror, Mozilla the following error message is displayed by Kprinter ;

The file format is not directly supported by the current print system. KDE can try to convert this file automatically to a supported format. But you can still try to send the file to the printer without any conversion. Do you want KDE to try to convert this file to application/postscript?

The problem may be related to some filter that may be not working but the error message is not very descriptive about the problem.

What are the packages one should install to have full printer support?

What are the Kprinter filter that should be used to be able to print from common application?

The following packages are installed for Epson Stylus printer;

apt-get install cupsys cups-pdf cupsys-pt cupsys-client cupsys-bsd foomatic-filters-ppds foomatic-gui escputil cupsys-driver-gimpprint cupsys-driver-gimpprint-data gimpprint-doc gimpprint-locales

thanks
