K3B can't find my CD-Burner
I'm using Debian Sarge and I tried to burn a cd earlier and k3b is not allowing me to burn, instead it gives me this message that says "no cd-burning device was found" , but I was able to burn cd's with no problem last week. I've also upgraded the kernel from 2.4.20 to 2.6.8. can someone help me out with this problem.

This is a known problem with the 2.6.8 kernel. Either downgrade your kernel, or try burning a CD with your root login. I recommend downgrading your kernel to something that isn't broken.

Logging on as root doesn't help me.
Kernel 2.6.8 (Debian Sarge), and no joy with K3B/cdrecord/etc., logged on either as a normal user or as root. Is there a way around this without having to install 2.4?

I had the same problem with the 2.6.8 kernel.
Went back to kernel 2.6.7 and cd burning works.
