k3b audio cd

I'm trying to use k3b to copy an audio cd. I'm using a new install of Debian 3.1 kernel 2.6.8 on a machine with two cd drives. Drive 1 is dvd, and drive 2 is cd-rw. I put the audio cd in the first drive, and a blank cd in the second. I click the 'disk copy' button and then in the next dialogue box I click 'start'. Another dialogue pops up that says "Found media: cd-r (empty) Please insert a complete or appendable medium (CD-R(W)) into drive" and then it lists my cd-rw drive "_NEC CD-RW NR-9300A (/dev/hdd)". If I try to get past this dialogue the burn fails. I can burn data cds fine.

There are options for dao and tao. I've tried both. I've tried making an audio disk project out of .wav files, but that doesn't work. What is the problem? Does anybody know? Any help would be apreciated.

The problem is the disk. For some reason your firmware doesn't recognize it as a cd-rw. Try another disk (manufacturer) first then try upgrading the firmware in your drive.

Thanks for the help. I don't know how to change my firmware, but it may not matter. (I will try different disks though). My problem is not consistant. Like I said, I can burn data cds. Anyway, on a different day I was able to copy a full audio cd (after 2 tries) and today I'll try to make an audio cd from .wav files. We'll see how that works. If I cannot do this consistantly I'll probably be asking how to change my firmware. Again, thanks alot for the help...
