Is kernel 2.6.7 a stable??

Is kernel 2.6.7 stable or is it a test release for 2.6.8?? i know that odd numbers are for test releases or unstable.. does that apply to this one too?? If so, than I'll just go with 2.6.6... thanks...

2.4.x and 2.6.x are stable. 2.5.x is unstable. You'll be fine with 2.6.7

Since there aren't plans for a 2.7.* kernel right now, is there any convention on which of the 2.6.* kernels will be for development?

The -rc (release candidate) kernels are/were for testing. So the 2.6.8-rc4 was a test kernel for 2.6.8. But 2.6.8 had this NFS Oops, so now we have this 2.6.8.1 which would have been 2.6.9-rc1 a few weeks ago?
