Is it possible to install Acroread on Debian Stable (Debian 9)?

Hello. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been able to install Acroread on Debian Stable (Debian 9, aka Stretch). If so, do please share how you did it. I've been able to install Acroread (aka Adobe Reader) on previous Linux versions, but not this one. I tried following the instructions here, but to no avail. PS, I already have both Okular and Document Viewer (aka Evince) installed on my computer, but some pdf forms will only open and work on Acroread (aka Adobe Acrobat Reader).

I can't help with Adobe Reader, but the link you gave says Adobe has abandoned Linux, and the install example given is for Debian 8. I can say that I have used xpdf (as well as evince). xpdf is available in the Debian 9 repository. Sometimes it will work when evince will not.

There's also Okular, which is my preferred PDF reader.

Yeah. Okular, as I mentioned, doesn't work with the document I was hoping to open. It's great otherwise, but it doesn't work on some documents that are fill-able forms (IE, forms to be filled in).

Anyway, I did find something that works here: https://code-industry.net/free-pdf-editor/

So, no need for Acroread.

There are two major problems with Acrobat Reader for Linux:
1) 9.5.5 has been the last release for Linux and that was in 2013
It is a 32-bit executable and there never was a 64-bit one, so you would need
ALL of the 32-bit versions of libraries it uses to be installed
2) It's still dependant on openssl 0.9, which isn't supported anymore and/or included
in modern Linux distributions; the interface of ssl in the 1.0 and 1.1 releases has
slightly changed, so that programs this old do not work with a more modern openssl
release anymore.

I do not know if it is possible to run the Windows version in wine, but otherwise you will need a full Windows VM to run Acrobat in.

Oops,
sometimes I just mixup in what language I am communicating, starting
a sentence in german and halfway continuing in dutch.
I had several crashed during x-mas and had to do my taxes, hence pdf-forms.
Just tired.
