internet connection problem


hi, im using debian etch rc3
i installed also opera but i cant open a webpage. it also cant open google.com. but i have a connection. i can access my msn and irc. and also i can read my mail with icedove.
i didnt change resolv.conf. after this problem i changed dns. but when i shutdown and open again same dns 192.168.2.1 and also the dns not a fix this connection problem.
is there any way to solve this problem?

no, im using my neighbour's US Robotics modem. they havent problem like me.

I haven't used a modem for around eight years and never on Linux! It might be an idea to change the title of the thread to mention modem.

Check the response from your host resolution for an address which works and an address which doesn't:

host www.google.com
host your.msn.literal.address

The 'resolv.conf' probably changes because your ppp 'options' file (or else the other config file to establish the connection) is set to use the peer's response to set the DNS (usepeerdns).

DiBosso, im sorry, that one is wireless modem. but i take the net with network cable.
