installing woody with non-standard kernels
hello all, i've been having some problems installing woody on my laptop when using the bf24 option. I know that there are issues with my laptop (Toshiba 2430) and ACPI under linux (not all ACPI function's work and often if these are enabled linux with crash on boot) I can install with the 2.2 kernel but not so keen on that as i want to run reiser fs and gnome 2.4 (also i'd like to upgrade to the 2.6 kernel a little later) I have it running with slackware 9.1 no probs but everyone I know who is running linux is on debian so I've had the glories of it beaten into me. So far none of my friends has been able to help with why debian locks hard when trying to use the 2.4 kernel. I'de like to stick with woody for the base if I can then install testing packages when i need/want to play with somthing.
So my question is: is it possible to put different kenels on the woody CD and install using them (like the slackware kernel that i know works on my laptop)? Any suggestions welcome
