Installing themes and superkaramba

I almost feel silly asking this question because I know installing themes is supposed to be simple. I have been using Debian for almost a year and everytime I attempt to install a theme I'm not successful! So somebody please list the steps to do this. I always follow the steps provided by the website where I find the theme but it never works!

I want to use superkaramba. I installed it and ran from a comman line. The error said "can't find x server". I think this is because I haven't installed any superkaramba themes? I tried to install one but as usual it didn't work.

I'm at work so I can't try any suggestions right now. But I certainly will when I get home.

You did use the Debian package of Superkaramba? When it starts you can load themes with the Superkaramba menu.

I don't use superkaramba but this sounds like a standard error you're making. You've installed superkaramba using apt which requires root access to your system and try to run the program still as root. This won't work in Debian. Open a new konsole or switch to a user using the command 'su youruser' and run superkaramba again. Probably will work now.
