Installing Seamonkey on Debian Lenny (sept-07-2009)

Many of us are aware that IceApe went byebye.
Many of us were not appreciative of this.

So, here is how to get Seamonkey, which IceApe was derived from.

As of September 7th, 2009:
  1. Go to seamonkey website.
  2. Download the full installer.
  3. Extract it to the desktop.
  4. Search through synaptic for the libstdc++5 package
  5. Install it.
  6. Go into the extracted seamonkey folder on the desktop
  7. Root into the directory
  8. Bash the install file
  9. Alias /usr/local/seamonkey/seamonkey to seamonkey or find some way to add it to the gnome menu.

You might notice that bookmarks and other settings might transfer over.

Enjoy.
