Installing KDM Login themes
Hi all,
I've just got a question about installing KDM login themes. I've been looking around for a couple of days, and I can't figure out how to do it with Debian. The instructions are:
# Download and unzip the theme archive.
# Put the theme folder in ~/.kde/share/apps/kdm/themes
# Edit your ~/.kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc
# Change or add the line Theme=~/.kde/share/apps/kdm/themes/"THEMENAME"
# Restart KDE
The only problem is that there's no Theme line in the kdmrc (which i found in /etc/kde3/kdm/), nor a line that says UseTheme = true, something I thought was supposed to be there.
There's also no themes directory that pertains to the login manager. Just a bunch for the desktop.
I was just wondering if there's a "Debian way" of doing this that I dont' know about.
Just as a note, the Theme Manager in the KDE Control Center doesn't help for adding login manager themes. I think it only works for desktop themes.
Any help?
Thanks,
Matt

Don't unzip it.
kcontrol -> Appearance & Themes -> Splash screen -> add -> browse to file.tar.gz and choose it

Isn't ksplash the little display that shows you that it's initializing the peripherals and loading the desktop just after you log in?
I'm talking about the actual screen that you log in at.
An example one is: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=26718
Thanks,
Matt
