I'm trying to install gaim 2 beta 3 from the debuntu repository. Anytime I select the package, synaptic decides to remove almost every package installed, and install only a few. This also happens with thunderbird. Any suggestions would be great.
I wish i had a simple problem like that. Anytime i go to install gaim, synaptic wants to remove gnome, kde, the x-server, my nvidia drivers, and a few other assorted libraries. I just ran a default upgrade in synaptic and that didn't fix it.
