Installed firefox, K-menu disappeared completely on closing.
I'm running Lenny and I thought I'd install Firefox and upon closing it the K-menu at the bottom of the screen disappeared. So now I can't change desktop, open shells or anything connected to that bar. I have tried ctrl-c, ctrl-z and ctrl-d, to try to exit any commands in the shell (firefox was run with ~/firefox/firefox at the prompt). I also tried exitin kde and hoping it would "forget" what had happened with the bar. Upon reentering kde, the bar appears for a brief moment only to disappear again. I have also tried following the sides of the screen with the mouse to see if it would pop up again, but nothing seems to work.
Firefox is probably a binary and should have been run with ./firefox from the command line within the directory.
Does KDE work with any other user account?
Firefox states ~/firefox/firefox is the way to open it. I was successful when I logged out, logged in again and "grabbed" the bar with the mouse pointer, right-clicked, chose "Anpassa panel" (Customise panel)(?), clicked "Dölj" (Hide)(?) and unticked the box "Dölj automatiskt" (Hide automatically)(?), "Verkställ" (Execute)(?) and then OK. Then I went back and ticked the box again and now it works.
Would be nice though, to get an explanation to why this happened in the first place.
I first started firefox from the prompt, but now I have put an icon on the desktop to the script.
