Installation of "RC1" Debian-Installer fine, but will not load
Hi.
I just installed Debian through the Installer Package, the Release Candidate 1 (Build 20040801). It all went through no problem (save for having to use noapic nolapic to disable "buggy APIC interrupt routing. That was the only way I could get the keyboard to work during the install. The GURB loader loads fine, allowing me to select Debian 2.4.26-l-386. Then, it goes through the boot process, but hangs after the command: hda: attached ide-disk driver. Then it does nothing. Nothing at all. I checked around a little, but couldn't seem to see anyone else with a similar problem. The recovery mode doesn't work either. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, and sorry if this has been covered before. |
wrong ide modules?

did you create a boot floppy during installation?
if so, try to use it to boot into the debian system. or use knoppix. try editing /boot/grub/menu.list and add "hda=none" to the end of the kernel specification line |
