I remember trying the same thing and failing - however, if you already have a running (Linux) system, the Live CD can be remastered. However, this is not an all-too-trivial task. Also, make sure that you're using the
Debian Live stuff for it (but you apparently have done so, so that shouldn't be an issue). Your main task would be to customize the Live CD to include the
Debian installer either with or without GUI (I sincerely recommend the latter - it may not look as nice as the other one, but it works, and fast and well, too!). FAQ and Manpages are on Daniel's
Debian Live site. They can take you there (which I for one couldn't do
) - if you use them, of course.
btw. You'd also have to make sure that you use the CD's system as a package source for the installer - I wouldn't know how to do that, but it would surely be very interesting. I didn't search the site yet, though... I also wonder what kept the
netinstall from succeeding... Maybe it's doable all the same if we could get a bit more information?
