i'm trying to setup an ssh server on a desktop pc running
debian lenny 6, but when i try to install it aptitude shows
a broken dependency on libkrb53 and the solution it suggests
seems to delete a lot of programs like dolphin or kate etc.
it shows a list of unresolved dependencies too
i'm using debian 6 kde cd just as it installs, i wonder
if this happens to other people, what can i do to solve
that problem? i just need a ssh server running and maybe other common servers,
You can start with telling us if you use Debian Lenny (which is version 5) or Debian Squeeze (which is version 6). There is no Debian Lenny 6.
After that, please post the exact commands you try and the exact output you get between code-tags (the #-button on top of the post-editor).
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian lenny main
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian lenny non-free
#deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports lenny-backports main contrib$
deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian lenny non-free
# Line commented out by installer because it failed to verify:
deb http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main
So I see your problem: You are running Debian 6, codename Squeeze, but your sources list points to Debian 5, codename Lenny. Replace any lenny in that file with squeeze, update the database and try it again.
