ext3 corrupts easily? Not hardly and definitely not when compared to fat or ntfs.

I lose power at least once a month and my install is 6yrs old. Never had any problems with file corruption.

Do some more research.

You don't want to do this. How would you deal with file and directory permissions, users and groups, etc.?

I've never had any significant issue with ext 2, 3, or 4. What problem are you having?

NOTE: One way to avoid filesystem problems is to always have LOTS of free space on your hard drive(s)

I have been using ext2,3, and currently ext4 with power outages and never had a corrupt system. I cannot say the same for my windows laptop....
