install base system failed: bash_2.05a-11_i386.deb was corrupt

My first try at installing Debian went very well until I got to the Install Base System step. Then it turned up this error:

/instmt/pool/main/b/bash/bash_2.05a-11_i386.deb was corrupt

I got my cd's from Do I simply need to get new cd's or burn some myself and start over from scratch? Or is there a fix for this?

to get through your installation, just do not install the currupted package.
After your Debian system is installed, you can download it via 'apt-get install <PACKAGENAME>'.

If there are more currupted packages, download the iso-images form an official Debian mirror, check the isos with 'md5sum ISONAME' -kompare this output with the md5.sum file from the mirror- and finally burn the cd's, if the md5sum of the iso's are equal to the entries in the md5sum file.

I'll hope this helps ...

Thanks for the response, bluebirdz! I'm afraid the Debian cd's from cheeplinux were all useless. I went ahead and downloaded the first iso with jigdo lite onto my windows install, burned the cd, and it worked great for the base install. I recommend jigdo to anyone - it's simple and fast and it worked. From that point on I completed the install via ftp.

In fairness to, for anyone considering them, I got 4 things from them, a FreeBSD install cd, a Knoppix cd, a Debian 7-cd set, and a cd with 'advanced' articles and books on Linux. The FreeBSD install went well, and the Knoppix cd works quite well. But as I said the Debian cd's were all broken and the 'advanced' books and articles were all 5-6 years old. So I have 2 out of 4 that I'm returning to them for a refund.
