Icewm seems to be disregarding some of its configuration files.

I'm using IceWM and none of the programs I have in ~/.icewm/startup are starting, and my desktop is not being set to the picture I have. Can someone help me here? My ~/.icewm/startup looks like this:
Code:
gaim&
xscreensaver&
xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5"&
and the line in my ~/.icewm/preferences for setting the background image and colour is:
Code:
# Desktop background color
DesktopBackgroundColor=""

# Desktop background image
DesktopBackgroundImage="/home/mike/Downward_by_Eraxer.jpg"
Can anyone help me?

you have to star icewm using the "icewm-session" command, not using "icewm".

if you start icewm using kdm/gdm/xdm you maybe have to alter the configuration script for icewm (don't ask where it is, do "locate icewm" and search...

Icewm Tips

What you call 'startup' should be in ~/.xsession the line should read:

exec icewm-session

this and more is posted in the message :
