I'm just curious as I have an iBook G4 and would like to put etch on it if someone has tried and if there ae any problem I might encounter?
I will as soon as I have some time and post back...

i haven't tried it since release, tried it at the start of the year and everything worked fine, even wireless. I had problems with my trackpad, i always have though. I didn't get sound, but other than that it was fine

I've installed Debian etch on my G4 iBook. 1Ghz G4 ,30G disk, 1.25Gb Ram, 12.1" Screen and DVD/CD Burner combo. I've also installed Ubuntu 6.10 PPc on it and most everything works.
For some reason I couldn't get my Ethernet to work and wireless has to be enabled using bcm43xx-fwcutter. So now everything appears to work except the Wired Network (eth1)
On a related note right clicking in Ubuntu is doe by pressing F12, Middle Clicking with F11 and left clicking with the mouse button. This works in Ubuntu and all the F button functions are accessed by pressing the Fn button on the bottom left of the keyboard. ie: To eject a CD: MacOSX press F12, Ubuntu: Press Fn+F12, Ubuntu, I'm not quite sure.
It is a lot faster than Mac OS Xwas on my iBook so that should give you hope.

For the Airport drivers go here and follow these instructions. They work for both Debian and Ubuntu.
