i got some news to share :D

well guys after a week of playing around with Debian i finally installed it with NOOOO problem and its great!! w00t LOL

but i have 2 questions.. how do i setup my sound card? and how would i probe for usb devices i just plugged in the other day?

For USB there's an app called lsusb. It's not necessarily installed by default so you may need to apt-get it. For sound, you'll have to find out what card you have (use lspci for this) then find the appropriate (ALSA or OSS) driver for it. Do you know which you plan to use?

For sound, read the thread entitled:

"No Sound in Sarge!" at the beginning of this page.

get in the habit or reading other threads, even if you think you don't have those problems, you would be surprised the things you learn; also do searches on this site database, it is huge.
