Hai,
I got the newwest kernel source for debian.and those alsa.debs installed.what should i do to get sound for my snd_azx module intel high definition audio?
Yep,
I thought i should recompile the kernel.but wat about those modules of ALSA palced in the /usr/src ?how should i compile/configure these ALSA modules into the newly goin' to built kernel?is there any way to get graphics support for intel 915GAV boards?plss bear that im a newbie:newbie:
kindly help

I've had much more luck leaving the alsa drivers as modules. When I've built them into the kernel I have had weird problems. Make sure you have the latest versions of all the ALSA and ALSA-related packages (alsa-base, alsa-libs, alsa-driver, etc) plus all necessary emulation packages such as alsa-oss. The correct modules should be loaded at boot time, check /etc/modules files and update if necessary. Remember to run update-modules after making any changes.

Also, please filter any lspci's and lsmod's for posting-relevant content. Nobody has time to sift through all those entries. Thanks, and happy posting!
