How to vesa ?
I have intel 845GLLY motherboard which has onboard graphics (845G).
Lenny(5.0) is using "i810" driver. xserver(GDM) crashes very often on login. I mean, most of the times I end up without login screen or X. I checked the xorg.conf file which has only entries like"configured device" "configured ...." ... I tried Code:
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg I have all the xserver-org packages installed in aptitude. Is it possible to enable vesa driver for my hardware and How ? I have heard people saying that they solved this problem by using vesa driver. Thanking you. |
Have you checked the /var/log/Xorg.0.log for errors (EE)? That may give you some indication as to what the problem is.

in your xorg.conf file change your video driver to "intel" and see if that works
